5 must-read books to debunk the lies against Israel
After (yet another) the disappointment of seeing my favorite Boulder bookstore feature a notorious Jew-hater, Ta-Nehisi Coates, in their latest newsletter—just days before October 7—I've put together 5 essential books for anyone seeking factual truth in today’s chaotic world.
True to form, I reached out to the bookstore, offering them a chance to explain why they chose to spotlight a book and author whose rhetoric includes such harmful and inflammatory propaganda as this:
“I don’t think I ever, in my life, felt the glare of racism burn stranger and more intense than in Israel.”
In his profile by NYMag, he explicitly calls for the elimination of the Jewish State.
On October 14, 2023, days after the Hamas massacre, Coates led the list of signatories condemning Israel, blaming the nation for the slaughter and strongly implying that all of Israel is Palestinian territory.
Regardless of where anyone stands on the ongoing Hamas-Israel war, it is disturbing that you would choose to promote a book so drenched in propaganda at such a sensitive time.
The response I got reads like a copy-paste from a PC manual of 2024. You can check out their email at the end of this post. Meanwhile, here are 5 must-read books I'm recommending to them—perfect for debunking the lies against Israel. These are also the 5 books they should have featured in their newsletter if they were genuinely interested in promoting peace, rather than fueling more hatred against Jews and Israel.
If you haven’t read these books yet, do it ASAP! I’ll dive deeper into each one soon, but for now, here are 5 must-read books to debunk the lies about Israel:
Industry of Lies: Media, Academia, and the Israeli-Arab Conflict Paperback –by Ben Dror Yemini
The war of Return - by Einat Wilff
War Against the Jews: How to End Hamas Barbarism - by Alan Dershowitz
Israel Alone - by Bernard-Henri Levy
Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew - by Emmanuel Acho, Noa Tishby
